Fostering
Fostering is looking after a child or young person in your own home, who cannot live with their parents.
Foster carers share the responsibility for the child with a local authority and the child's parents. Fostering is usually a temporary arrangement, though sometimes foster care may be the plan until the child grows up.
We need all kinds of people from all of the communities in Bristol. There is no typical foster carer in the same way as there is no typical child.
We have a range of fostering schemes available for anyone who is considering becoming a foster carer.
