Schools carbon-cutting campaign proves success
Schools have a big role to play in helping to achieve those ambitious targets, with their buildings emitting 9,894 tonnes of CO2 each year.
And children from throughout the Borough saw their environmental efforts rewarded at a special ceremony celebrating the success of the initiative.
The Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland, Councillor Olwyn Peters, and the Council's Climate Change Champion, Councillor Doreen Rudland, handed out awards to schools in a range of categories.
