New food-growing space launched

Residents of the Towers estate attended a launch of their new food-growing space at the front of the estate in Dartmouth Park Avenue in Camden, London, on Saturday 7 May. Resident actor Shazad Latif, currently starring in the BBC TV series Spooks as Tariq Masood, cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the community gardening area.

To celebrate the transformation of empty space into a communal gardening area for growing fruit, vegetables and herbs, locals enjoyed music sessions provided by Darryl Lee Que and JoJo Yates, where they joined in with Caribbean drumming and children were treated to a special session on percussion instruments.
