Localisation of Council Tax Benefit
From April 2013 the Government is abolishing Council Tax Benefit and each Local Authority will replace it will their own support schemes, which will be known as Council Tax Support. However, the Government is giving local Councils less money to run these new schemes, leaving Councils with the difficult decision of deciding who gets Council Tax Support and how much.
EVERYONE currently entitled to Council Tax Benefit, except for pensioners could be effected by these changes and could see a reduction in the benefit they currently receive.
