Private Rented Properties

Private Sector Housing is a team of Officers who are concerned with standards in the private rented sector. If accommodation is deemed to be defective, the City Council may intervene after the tenant has informed their landlord of defects but this has failed to bring about an acceptable outcome. Where accommodation is shared with people other than family, this may be multiple occupied and in the case of a 3 storey multiple occupied property with 5 or more people occupying, a licence from the City Council may be required.
