The government will soon be making a number of major changes to the welfare benefits. Do you know what effect these changes will have on your household?

The government is introducing cuts to your Housing Benefit if they think you have any spare bedrooms, meaning housing benefit will not pay as much towards your rent as they did before. This is known as a deduction, and means that you will need to make payments towards part of your rent yourself. If you are classed as having 1 spare bedroom then the deduction will be 14% and it will be 25% if you have 2 or more spare bedrooms.
