BCH Launch Great New Service

Looking Local is pleased to announce the launch of the Birmingham Childrens Hospital's site with a great new service. BCH is the first of a number of health organisations now realising the potential of TV and mobile to connect with their patients.

The innovative approach to TV, mobile and Wii services that BCH has taken has raised the bar in terms of content and customer access. Alongside in depth customer focused information on services, operations, ailments, pre and post care etc, BCH offers video tours of the hospital including theatres and clinics, helping patients feel more comfortable about their treatments (currently only available on their Wii service).

BCH is also the first Looking Local partner to install Nintendo Wiis in their buildings allowing patients and family/friends to access their services and information as well as feed back on site. The consultation element of the site - including targeted surveys - is key to their Patient Advice & Liaison Service. To promote their use BCH uses Bluetooth to alert people to their existence and location when people enter the building.
